A week from today we will be on a plane to Nairobi, Kenya. Ahhhhhh. it is crazy for me to have just typed that sentence.
Above is a picture of our packing efforts. It looks disorganized. However, there is actually a packing system going on it is just hard to recognize. It has been like that with a lot of the planning of this trip. When I take the long view I can see how everything is coming together and yet in the short view it looks a bit discombobulated. Connecting all the dots of getting from Coshocton Ohio to Nairobi, Kenya is not a straight line. Through it I hear God ask me to take one step at a time.
This causes me to think about Peter. When Jesus called Peter to step out of the boat and walk on water, He asked him to come one step at a time. I am reminded that God was good enough to call me to something new and then to reveal each step as I followed. Today, I’m hopeful and excited about our new heading.
Here is what will be happening in the next week.
1. Plane tickets- we leave this coming Saturday, May 30 at 3pm to fly to Chicago, to Heathrow to Nairobi. We arrive in country Sunday May 31 at 8:45pm local time.
2. Housing- when we first arrive we will be staying at the Mayfield Guest house.
The picture looks quit nice and the reviews are wonderful. The purpose of staying here is to get settled into the time change and to allow time to be a bit pampered. Here is a link if you wish to learn more.
3. After a couple of days at the guest house we will then be settled into an apartment AIM has for short term missionaries like ourselves.
Thank you for joining us on this disconnected, discombobulated yet glorifying trip.
Until next letter, blessings to you all.
